Prairie Prays - Summer 2025

Summers in Manitoba are relaxed. After enduring a long winter, we often take time to travel, to go camping, to enjoy swimming in pools or lakes, or spend time visiting on patios or decks. We may break out of our regular patterns of life and even our weekends don’t always look the way they do in the fall, winter, and spring. It means we might not see all the same people at our Sunday services all the time.

We hope to stay connected to our church community and strengthen our relationship with God, and we’ve sometimes tried to find simple ways to provide some teaching, guided prayers, and such in an online form to help with this.

Over the summer this year, I’m inviting you to pray specifically for our congregation of Prairie Presbyterian. Every two weeks, there will be a different focus on various aspects of the life of the Church.  We will give thanks for what has been, and also look forward to the fall and where the Church is heading.

Each time we shift focus, we will release a different short video where you are invited to pray along with me. I hope you’ll take these opportunities to really hold our congregation in prayer. For our past and for our future.

The videos will show up on Instagram, Facebook, and on our Youtube channel. Below you will see a playlist that will update as the different videos release.

Here are the different areas of church life are praying for:

  • June 22 to July 5- - Prairie Church in General (and the new beginnings team)

  • July 6 to 19 - The nurturing of relationships within the congregation.

  • July 20 to August 2 - Our local neighbourhood of Fort Richmond and the University of Manitoba

  • August 3 to 16 - the children of our congregation

  • August 17 to 30 - the elders, who as the session govern the congregation.

  • August 31 to September 13 - the generosity and  stewardship of the congregation.

Thanks for praying with me for our congregation this summer,

Pastor Matt
